Originally the pumpkin I was going to be painted as one of those fun white ones. As I was working through the painting, I decided that it needed to be a traditional orange pumpkin. Then the shape had to altered to fit the pumpkin type. It all worked out and here is Grant Woods American Gothic in the background with my pumpkin.
